What is Clinical Herbalism?

Clinical Herbalism is the holistic practice of using botanical medicine within a medical and energetic framework to alleviate health challenges with the aim of restoring health and vitality.

Clinical Herbalists are trained to understand how botanical medicine interacts with the human body and its pathophysiological processes. We take into account any current diagnosis and how herbs can interact with prescription drugs. We work with clients one-on-one to develop a comprehensive health plan that includes an herbal formula, a customized nutrition program, and the integration of supplements and lifestyle modifications to nourish both physical and emotional health.

Clinical Herbalists are complementary health practitioners. We do not treat or diagnose, but rather offer natural adjunct therapies to complement the work you're doing with your primary health provider.

What is Vitalist Medicine?

Vitalism: the body's organized living intelligence that, when given the right conditions, can manifest healing; the healing and transformative power of nature that is present in all living beings

Vitalist medicine aims to bring balance to the body's vital ecology by removing obstacles to health.

As a Vitalist practitioner, I do a careful observation of the physical, mental, and emotional states of the human body and its environmental influences. Then,  a pattern of imbalance is discerned and the proper therapeutics are offered to help support the body's natural intelligence to heal itself.

Guiding Principles

Accessible Wellness

Everyone regardless of ethnicity, gender, and socio-economic status, deserve high-quality and accessible holistic healthcare. To that end, I offer a sliding scale fee to those who may otherwise not be able to afford holistic health services.

Trauma-Informed Care

A trauma-informed approach to care is recognizing the role that trauma plays in an individual's life and understanding that the impact of trauma can affect the healing process, both emotionally and physically. As a trauma-informed herbalist, I strive to create a compassionate space to foster safety, trust, belonging, and connection.

Person-Centered Care

My practice focuses on honoring a client's individual needs. I do not use one-size-fits-all protocols. With a holistic approach to care, I take into account the whole person by addressing their physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. I use a body-positive and gender-affirming framework and offer competent care to LGBTQIA+ clients.

Sustainable and Ethical Sourcing

As a land steward and former garden educator, my first love is always with the health of the plants and the ecosystems from which they are harvested. I am committed to ethically sourcing herbs that are from organic or local farms using regenerative practices with thoughtful consideration of the livelihoods of the people that harvested them.
